In a nutshell:
This page is all about why we exist and gives you further details on:

- Why we care about carers
- How you can get involved
Welcome to Carers Club!
Carers Club exists for you. Our aim is to be useful, we’re here to give you clear, simple, straight forward advice and support about your caring journey or the journey of someone you know who is providing essential care.
We point to the good stuff. Carers Club is not about re-inventing the wheel, we know there are some really amazing support networks and detailed advice initiatives out there already. We want to ensure you know where to find them and how to work out which bits are relevant for you and your caring role.
We think you deserve something special. Carers often say to us that it would be nice to be thanked; we’ll continue to grow our dedicated discounts area so you’re receiving the best deal out there and the opportunity to treat yourself.
We understand your time is precious. Use Carers Club as a quick reference tool, an inspiration point, a place to take five minutes out to catch up on carer news or as an opportunity to get involved in something new.
We want you to enjoy our club, be part of it, tell us what you love and tell us when we’re wrong. We promise to listen.
Why we care about carers
There are now seven million unpaid carers in the UK who look after family, a friend or a neighbour who couldn’t cope without them. In doing so, they save the NHS around £119 billion each year.
Every day another six thousand people take on caring responsibilities and it’s really important that carers receive the support they need, but often this isn’t the case.
As a provider of NHS and social care services across the country, we, Virgin Care, have the opportunity to make a real difference for carers and therefore help to keep communities safe and healthy. That’s what we’re seeking to do through our Time to care for carers programme which is aimed at:
- Increasing the awareness of the role of carers and how they are valued and supported
- Looking after our own carers who are employees within our organisation
- Supporting carers using our services or caring for people using our services
- Employee engagement, development and volunteering
That’s why we created Carers Club, a hub for all the best guidance, support and advice for carers in one easy to access, simple and jargon-free place.
