In a nutshell:

Brothers Adam and Daniel Pike founded SuperCarers from personal experience watching their mother struggle to cope with managing their grandma’s care.
Grandma Pam wanted to stay at home but agency support was inadequate and unaffordable. She was a passionate artist and teacher but no caregiver shared her interests. She went into a residential home where her health and happiness deteriorated rapidly.
Adam and Daniel’s vision is of a world where all older people can live independently for as long as they are able to, where families are confident that their loved one’s care is of a consistently high standard and where care is personalised to the individual.
SuperCarers is a personal online service matching the needs of families with safe, reliable and compassionate caregivers.
Much like the thinking behind a dating website, those in need of care, can be matched with caregivers who compliment their personality and can build enduring companionships.
For unpaid carers needing some respite or enough time to just pause once a week, SuperCarers is the company for them.
What sets SuperCarers apart from traditional agency middlemen (aside from the matching process) is the sleek inventive technology that reduces scheduling, communication and administration costs. These savings are passed directly on to the person paying for the care.
In the medium term, SuperCarers will enable the use of personal budgets for their services to ensure it is accessible to all. With changes coming in April 2015, unpaid carers may be eligible for further support, such as direct payments that make caring easier. See www.gov.uk for more details.
SuperCarers will support people from non-care backgrounds to become carers too, with tools to be self-employed and succeed, filling the ever-growing gap in the sector.
The assurance of knowing who will arrive at the door to look after your loved one (or yourself), who has been handpicked by you gives peace of mind like no other.
What’s more, you can pick different carers for different purposes, how about Marie for preparing meals and Ben for playing Bridge! We’ve made up Marie and Ben for the sake of this piece of content but just take a look through the carers’ profiles; you’ll see how super they are.
